Glide Energy´s founding partners have over 20 years of experience developing and investing worldwide in the green energy sector. They have led the growth of the investment platforms of Banco Santander and later Cubico Sustainable Investments reaching USD3.8 bn. of total transactions’ value for 4.8 GW of renewable energy projects.

Marcos Sebares
Marcos started his career in Santander bank, where he set up and developed the main investment activity in renewable energy, leading a team of 70 professionals, with global presence and offices in USA, Latin America, Europe (UK, Italy, Portugal and Spain), Asia (Hong Kong) and Australia (Sydney). Later, in 2015 he led the sale of the business to Canadian Pension Funds, PSP and OTPP, creating Cubico Sustainable Investments, of which Marcos became CEO. During his time in Santander and Cubico, Marcos closed renewable energy projects for a total of €3.8 bn. transaction value and 4.8 GW supported capacity.
Marcos has also been a market leader in other areas: setting up the first Carbon Fund in Spain together with Spanish Official Credit Institute (ICO) or designing and implementing market-leading tax equity structures for big ticket assets such as vessels, aircrafts and trains.
Raquel Gadea
Raquel started investing in renewable energy back in 2005 as part of Santander bank principal investment team, taking part in landmark transactions across Europe. Raquel joined Cubico Sustainable Investment at its inception in 2015 as Head of Investment Oversight and part of its Investment Committee.
Raquel holds a BA degree from CUNEF and an Executive MBA from London Business School
Alfonso Ramón-Borja
Alfonso has over 9 years of investment experience in infrastructure, focusing on renewable energy and concession-based water assets. He has worked in transactions at every stage of an investment cycle.
Before joining Glide Energy at its inception, Alfonso spent 3 years at Cubico Sustainable Investments in London as part of the investment spin-off team that joined from Santander where he also spent 4 years investing proprietary equity in the European and Latam
renewable energy space.
